Read the latest issue of The IIT BHU Chronicle: March 2017
The IIT-BHU Chronicle is a bimonthly (six times a year) online news magazine published by IIT-BHU Global Alumni Association (IBGAA). It is published in the months of January, March, May, July, September and November. Its first issue was published over eleven years ago (May 2005 issue). The magazine represents news and views of IIT-BHU (Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi) community including: students, alumni, faculty and administration. The magazine’s views are independent to those of alumni association or the institute.
(This is our new website from September 17, 2016. The old website (www.itbhuglobal.org) has been deactivated and pointer links to new website.)
The magazine faithfully records all the news and events happening for the IIT-BHU community (hence the name chronicle-recorder of events). It publishes news and articles from a variety of published sources, which are important for the engineering students and professional engineers.
The magazine is published around end of each publishing month. It is mass emailed to 11,000 alumni, students and faculty of the institute. Moreover, about 5,000 estimated students/alumni from other engineering colleges and from BHU read it regularly.
Chronicle collects important news and events info from various sources including news media, such as newspapers, magazines, online journals, etc. Chronicle publishes news articles and information for the benefits of community associated with the national level premier institute. It does not profit from publication in any form including: donations, contribution from members, online advertisements, etc. If any news media feels that this is not done in a proper way, they can contact us at: email@example.com.
Similarly, none of the published articles (created by chronicle team efforts) has copyright on it and others are free to copy or distribute it in any form without our permission. If they feel, they can mention the source as “IIT-BHU Chronicle”.
Collaboration with search engines:
The magazine has entered into collaboration with leading search engines, such as Google, MSN, AOL, Yahoo!, etc. Because of this, many articles appear in the first 3 pages of search.
After publication of each issue, the crawlers from different search engines (with whom we have collaborations) set into the motion on the main page. Each crawler moves slowly (slowly because there are millions of crawlers working at different websites for a search engine and wait in queue for reporting a new entry to the main server of the search engine) from the front page to the inner pages. The articles appear in Google search results in few days after the article is published.
